The GHG standard divides emissions (climatic load) into three areas (scopes):
- Includes emissions from the activities that we own (production facilities and trucks).
- Emission from the energy we purchase (electricity og district heating)
- All other emissions from the value chain (milk produced on the farm, packaging, external distributors, waste processing)
As the diagram shows, only 4% of the total emissions come from our own activities (scope 1). 3% are from purchase of electricity and heat, (scope 2), and the remaining 93% are from purchase of raw material, milk, packaging material and, waste disposal (scope 3).
