Brown Butter Mac and Cheese with Arla


  • 1/4 cup Arla Unsalted Butter + 2 tbsp.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Arla UHT Full Cream Milk
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • Salt, to taste
  • 250g uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 100g Arla Natural Cream Cheese Plain
  • 1 cup Arla Natural Mozzarella Shredded + 1 cup


  1. Preheat oven to broil.
  2. In an oven safe pot over medium heat, add 1/4 cup butter Arla Unsalted Butter and heat until browned and bubbling, about 5-8 minutes.
  3. In the same pot, add Arla UHT Full Cream Milk and water and stir until combined.
  4. Season liquid with salt to taste.
  5. Add the uncooked macaroni to the pot.
  6. Bring the liquid up to a boil and stir frequently, until the noodles have cooked, and almost all of the liquid has been absorbed, about 8-12 minutes.
  7. Add the remaining two tablespoons of Arla Unsalted Butter, Arla Natural Cream Cheese Plain and 1 cup Arla Natural Mozzarella Shredded.
  8. Stir until all the ingredients are combined and the cheese is fully melted. (If needed, adjust the pasta with pasta water)
  9. Remove from heat and top with remaining Arla Natural Mozzarella Shredded.
  10. Move to broiler and broil until the top is brown, about 5 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven and serve.
